About
Nuchatlaht 2026 Summer Campout

Dates: 07/17/26  to 07/20/26 (optional July 16, July 21)

Our annual summer campout will be happening again this year at Nuchatlitz, in the traditional home territory of the Nuchatlaht First Nation. We will have additional events planned for this year with exciting updates to be shared at the event.

Drug and alcohol free event

This will be a strict drug and alcohol free event. Failure to comply will result removal from campground and transport back to Oclucje.

What is the Early Bird Day?
The Early Bird Day is an opportunity for campers wanting to extend their stay in Nuchatlitz and arrive 1-day prior to opening day on Friday, July 17
Disclaimer: All participants scheduled to arrive one day early will be responsible for their own meals.

Bring Your Own Gear (and supplies)
All camp attendants will be required to bring their own supply of essential gear and supplies.

  • Pack all required gear you may need during the campout;
​(Tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment, propane, plates & cutlery, own lifejacket)​
  • Pack your medication and personal necessities
    ​(medication, hygienic products, etc.);

  • Bring your own breakfast, lunch and snack supplies for the days we are not providing meals.
  • Bring your own supply of water for drinking and personal use.
​Nuchatlaht will not have additional supplies or gear available for use.

Volunteering

If you are registering to volunteer, please make sure you can commit to the role. Everything we do is for each other. We appreciate all our helpers. Thank you.
We will have many opportunities for anyone willing to volunteer for various camp duties throughout the weekend. If you are interested in adding your name to the list of volunteers for a certain task, let us know in your registration.
Heavy-load tasks:
  • Loading and/or unloading of camp gear as campers arrive or depart,
  • Refilling of water utilities,
  • Setting up camp shelter(s)
Kitchen tasks:
  • Dinner Meal Preparation
  • Dinner Cooking
  • Dishes
Maintenance tasks:
  • Camp garbage collection

Transportation:

Complimentary travel between Oclucje and Nuchatlitz (the campsite) will be provided on a scheduled basis with specific days and times for participants. See registration below for more information.

Departure Times:
There will be a schedule closer to camp dates.
At this time we want boats running from 10am-3pm on July 16 (optional Early Bird Day)
​and 
9am-8pm on July 17th, Day 1 of campout.
​

Camp Location: Nuchatlitz Traditional Territory

Trip time to camp location from Oclucje:
40 minutes one way (approximately)
+ up to 30 mins for loading / unloading

Total time between trips (approximately)
expect up to 1:30hr - 2:00hrs per available boat
