    Please include everyone that will be attending with you. Immediate family members are permitted to attend Nuchatlaht events.

    Transportation information:

    If you require additional services to attend any Nuchatlaht hosted event, please get in touch with the Band Office to arrange a method of travel.
    If your Primary Driver is different than Primary Applicant: Primary applicant is still eligible for fuel reimbursement and may include Primary Driver in their Guest List to attend.

    Overnight Accommodations

    Nuchatlaht members facing scheduling barriers or travelling long distances when attending our events may request overnight accommodations to be able to attend our events. Overnight Requests will be reviewed by Management prior to approval if it is deemed necessary. Nuchatlaht will remain contact with Primary Applicant in regards to overnight accommodation requests to notify of Approval and Location.
    Note: If you require overnight accommodations and you are unable to show up to attend, please notify the Band Office immediately to avoid any no-show charges.
    Note: Due to room capacity restrictions, a maximum of 4 per party will be allowed for accommodations. Only one room will be reserved per family.

    TRAVEL INFORMATION
    Travel Reimbursement:
    Fuel cost to travel to Oclucje will be reimbursed from the Nation for Nuchatlaht membership.
    Travel destination:
    Oclucje Community Dock
    Trip distance to Oclucje from:
    Campbell River - 204km one way | Trip time appx: 2.5hrs
    Nanaimo - 358km one way | Trip time appx: 4hrs
    Victoria - 468km one way | Trip time appx: 5.5hrs

    DEPARTURE FROM OCLUCJE DOCK
    As we navigate the high and low tide levels of the ocean, we will have scheduled departure times for everyone attending the campout.
    Please indicate when you expect to arrive at the community dock for departure.
    Preferred Sailing
    If you missed your selected trip or it is already full, your party will be placed on the next available sailing.

    Please include all family members that will be travelling with you to this event. Non-member family members are welcome to attend but will be under the responsibility of the primary applicant name.

About
Nuchatlaht 2025 Summer Campout

Dates: 07/24/25 to 07/28/25

Our annual summer campout will be happening again this year at Nuchatlitz, in the traditional home territory of the Nuchatlaht First Nation. We will have additional events planned for this year with exciting updates to be shared at the event.

Drug and alcohol free event

This will be a strict drug and alcohol free event. Failure to comply may result in confiscation of material(s) or removal from campground and transport back to Oclucje.

The Early Bird Day is an opportunity for campers wanting to extend their stay in Nuchatlitz and arrive 1-day prior to opening day on Friday, July 25th

All camp attendants will be required to bring their own supply of essential gear and supplies.

​(Tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment, propane, plates & cutlery, own lifejacket)​
  • Pack your medication and personal necessities
    ​(medication, hygienic products, etc.);

​Nuchatlaht will not have additional supplies or gear available for use.

Volunteering

Optional & Flexible
We will have many opportunities for anyone willing to volunteer for various camp duties throughout the weekend. If you are interested in adding your name to the list of volunteers for a certain task, let us know in your registration.
Heavy-load tasks:
  • Loading and/or unloading of camp gear as campers arrive or depart,
  • Refilling of water utilities,
  • Setting up camp shelter(s)
Kitchen tasks:
  • Dinner Meal Preparation
  • Dinner Cooking
  • Dishes
Maintenance tasks:
  • Camp garbage collection
  • Fire log splitting

Transportation:

Complimentary travel between Oclucje and Nuchatlitz (the campsite) will be provided on a scheduled basis with specific days and times for participants. See registration below for more information.

When signing up for this event, please indicate your preferred time of departure as Departing Times will depend on Tide levels for each day. ​
