OUR TINY BUT MIGHTY COMMUNITY
Home to approximately 25-40 residents at any given time, the community of Oclucje consists of:
The Nuchatlaht Band Office, housing structures, a small park, local gym portable, basketball court, baseball field, and a Greenhouse.
Nuchatlaht is a small community located approximately 3 hours north-west of Campbell River in a remote portion of Vancouver Island. It is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council which consists of 14 communities along the western portion of Vancouver Island. Nuchatlaht has approximately 25 members living on-reserve and a total membership of 162.

In an effort to reduce our environmental footprint, we have started local initiatives to contribute towards a greener community. Starting with our greenhouse, and eventually leading to local composting and recycling. We have set-up designated areas to responsibly handle everything in-house.
