"QUU ASA PRESENTS NUCHATLAHT TYEE HA'WIIH WITH EAGLE FEATHER & BLANKET"
The Quu asa Team, Stanley Matthew & Dennis John came into "Oclucje" on April 01, 2015 with a presentation for our "Tyee Ha'wiih Walter Michael Sr." Although I saw it as honouring our "Tyee Ha'wiih," for showing Courage & Strength, To Let Go To Move Forward.
Dennis John started the presentation off with a chant, with Stanley Matthew acknowledging the Tyee for his courage to step up and ask for the help from his team, for the strength to let go, for the trust in the Quu asa team and for the patience. Stanley Matthew held a Blanket, with an eagle feather gifts for our Tyee Ha'wiih from his BOSS & TEAM. Stanley explained the eagle feather, then requested the use of a picture off our website, for the use of a banner promoting "The Healing Journey" for residential school survivors. Nuchatlaht Tribes' Tyee Ha'wiih Walter Michael accepted his gifts with pride, he thanked Stanley & Dennis for all there help with his Ceremony and he also gave permission for the use of the picture stating "ANYTHING TO HELP OTHERS HEAL"
The Quu asa Team requested the use of the picture to show, others that there is hope for healing! Was awesome to witness.

Nuchatlaht Tribes' Tyee Ha' wilth Letting Go To Move Forward Ceremony
The Community of "OCLUCJE," started its new year witnessing a very special "CEREMONY."
The "NTC QUU'SA TEAM," along with the "NTC CLINICAL COUNCILLOR" Rhonda Hutchinson came into "Oclucje" to do a "LETTING GO, TO MOVE FORWARD CEREMONY!"
This Ceremony was a "TRADITIONAL BURNING," in which the Tyee burned all his papers on "RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL." The Ceremony ended with the "TYEE'S" family calling him home, with welcoming open arms. Natalie Jack and Janice John-Smith arrived for the last of the ceremony, Natalie Jack gave an awesome speech in her language, which she than translated into the "ENGLISH VERSION." A big thanks to the "Tyee's family," community members, and the Students from ZESS, who showed interest to come witness this event. AN EVEN BIGGER THANKS TO THE NTC QUU'SA TEAM & RHONDA HUTCHINSON. ALSO A HUGE THANKS TO OUR AWESOME CHEF AUDREY SMITH OF COURSE SHE MADE US SOME FISH SOUP WITH SANDWICHES FOR LUNCH.
